How we feel about the future

Studio Nine is committed to sustainability, not just as a principle, but in totally practical terms. By studying the aspect of the site, its topography and endemic climatic conditions, we can site the building to improve its energy efficiency and associated running costs.

In construction, we have a preference for materials that are low-energy to produce or even those that are safely recycled. And, where appropriate, we even strive to regenerate and reuse existing buildings for new functions.

It’s not just about saving money but saving history and amenity and the local landmarks that are part of each individual community’s character: a legacy for future generations that’s almost as important as the ecological and environmental aspects of our work.
