We asked them all one question — Why Studio Nine?

Ida | Interior Designer — “Studio Nine ticked all the boxes for me. I wanted to work somewhere I could see myself long-term. I love that the studio has such a broad range of projects, with a large interior team that would allow me to collaborate more and learn from others. From Instagram I could see that the studio had a fun vibe and a real family culture (and that there was always a lot of cake!), which is something I’ve felt a part of straightaway.”

Michael | Architect — “Like Ida, I was looking for a change and career progression somewhere that I could see myself long-term. I wanted to come back to commercial architecture, with more opportunity to take ownership of projects and see them through to completion. The social aspect was important to me as well and it was clear that the team is a close knit group. The coffee is good too, which was obviously of high importance!”

Lucy | Senior Designer — “My story is a little different. I was moving back to Adelaide from interstate and was looking for something flexible, with the opportunity for growth. Tony and I worked together 20 years ago and he has always remained a mentor figure for me. Working with him again after all this time was a huge drawcard for me and I loved the good, varied scale of projects across so many sectors. The studio has a real vibe to it with a great gender balance and age range.”

Jason | Senior Designer — “For the last two and half years I was running my own design business, but found myself wanting to be back in a studio environment where I could learn and develop again. The decision for me revolved around finding somewhere with the right mentors and project opportunities. It’s refreshing that all staff, including the Directors, are in the trenches together, working as a team.”
