McDonald’s Hindley Street

The prominent Hindley Street McDonalds has undergone a transformation with a considerable cosmetic upgrade to fall in line with current McDonald’s design standards. With a high turnover of patrons and 24 hour service, materiality and furniture selections had to be robust, while maintaining the industrial, urban feel of the prescribed material palette. Contained inside a State Heritage Listed building, it was important the colours of the external facade conformed with heritage requirements to maintain the strong presence of the building, while refreshing it with a new coat of paint. Bi-fold windows were added to connect the restaurant with the activity on the street, as well as the re-introduced outdoor dining area.
