Our Commitment to Reconciliation

RAP Announcement2

In honour of National Reconciliation Week, Studio Nine Architects is proud to have received formal endorsement of our inaugural Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

We began our reconciliation journey with a view to better understand how, as a member of the design community, we can meaningfully contribute to reconciliation, cultural awareness, collaboration, and thoughtful change.

We acknowledge that our Reflect RAP is the beginning of an ongoing journey of listening, learning, understanding and accountability, focused on building meaningful relationships and deepening respect with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. By adopting this plan, we aim to lay a solid, informed foundation for future reconciliation initiatives and opportunities.

To deliver our Reflect RAP we have worked collaboratively with Nik&Co. Consultancy, an Aboriginal-owned consultancy and Bookabee Australia to facilitate Aboriginal Cultural Sensitivity and Respect Training for our team, as well as guided informative walking tours.

S9 Team Members have also acknowledged Reconciliation Week by spending their time volunteering with our long-term social responsibility partner, Baptist Care, assisting with the requirements to host their annual Reconciliation Day BBQ event.

Our Reflect RAP provides our studio with clear and measurable pathways to realise our commitments, which we believe will provide us with the accountability needed to direct our reconciliation journey.

We look forward to embarking on this meaningful and important journey as a collective studio.
