Sam’s path into architecture was shaped by an early fascination with how the built environment tells stories of place, culture and history. With a background in surveying and construction, he developed a deep appreciation for the layers that underpin our physical surroundings and how design can both respond to and elevate what already exists.
Coming to architecture a little later, Sam brings a methodical and logical mindset. His hands-on industry experience has given him a strong understanding of the practical realities of construction, while his surveying background continues to inform his attention to site, detail and the integrity of place.
Sam first connected with the studio after receiving the 2019 Studio Nine Architects Design Excellence Award during his final year of study. Since joining the team, he has become a valued member of our hospitality team, contributing to projects that focus on atmosphere, user experience, and meaningful design outcomes.
