Featured on Broadsheet, the Angry Penguin is celebrated as a new dining destination where food, art and Adelaide’s cultural history come together within the revitalised Adelaide Festival Centre.
Drawing inspiration from the rebellious spirit of Angry Penguins magazine and the infamous Ern Malley literary hoax, the restaurant’s interior takes cues from Sidney Nolan’s 1973 portrait of the fictional poet. Plush red carpets, bespoke furniture by local designers Andrew Carvolth and Jon Goulder, and a rich material and colour palette create an appropriately theatrical backdrop to the dining experience.
