With a refreshed focus on relaxed, fine-dining — a rejuvenation of the popular Mediterranean restaurant
Georges is a renowned institution of the Adelaide food scene. Having been in business for over 20 years, the restaurant has had minimal refurbishment since its infancy.
The brief called for an outcome that reinvented the space from a typical evening venue to an approachable lunch and dinner destination. A Mediterranean space to match the high-quality Mediterranean cuisine.
Working within the existing structure and layout, new wall and floor treatments, feature lighting and furniture were introduced. Muted tones of sage, terracotta and sandy whites were used throughout to offset the natural timber and linen across the split-level areas.
With consideration of the owner’s legacy, S9 collaborated with Prana Studios and Ink & Ruby Studios to honour their Greek heritage. A refreshed brand was developed in keeping with the chosen palette and natural textural materials, and graphic murals implemented across the expansive venue walls providing a nod to Greek mythology.
The addition of seating along the street front window ledge enhances street activation and creates an inside-outside dining feel – typical of a Mediterranean setting.
