As part of a larger master plan for the hotel precinct, the refurbishment of the former South Terrace Motel — reshaping and rebranding it into ‘HotelMOTEL’, a modern remake of the classic motel and a destination city fringe location that complements and strengthens the current offering.

The project included the upgrade of the existing 60 motel rooms, facade works and external activation along the South Terrace frontage, creating visual impact from the street and connecting the three sites.

The simple and cost effective solution draws reference from the original motel features and inspiration from the South Australian landscape. The rooms feature a native palette of blues, oranges and walnut tones, with an emphasis on including locally produced products.
