We’re pleased to announce the elevation of Senior Interior Designer Melinda De Cianni to Associate, recognising her ongoing contribution to the studio's design culture and leadership across our housing portfolio.
Bringing a people-first approach to design, Melinda joined the studio with an award-winning background in residential interiors and a desire to contribute her skillset across new sectors. Since then, she has led the interiors on several significant projects that reflect her commitment to purposeful, user-focused spaces including the new Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation Elizabeth Vale Development, MUSE Apartments at Bowden, and the inaugural Founder’s Row townhouses at Southwark Grounds.
Her approach to interior design is grounded in empathy and storytelling, with each project shaped by its own unique context. From creating safe, culturally responsive spaces for new mothers, to embedding a new local identity at Southwark Grounds, and fostering a sense of community and belonging within MUSE, Melinda’s work consistently reflects a deep understanding of how interiors can shape and positively influence lived experience.
Passionate about creating spaces that shift how people feel and interact with their environment, Melinda brings a strong design lens to the studio’s interiors, setting a clear benchmark for quality and design integrity across all her projects.
Melinda has demonstrated her ability to deliver high-quality design outcomes and is committed to continuing to elevate our interiors offering with a strong focus on innovative, design-driven solutions.
"I feel incredibly humbled by this opportunity, I've always been someone who strives to grow, both creatively and professionally, so stepping into this role is an exciting next chapter. I’m passionate about building a culture that puts people first, where collaboration, care and open conversations are part of how we work every day.” — Melinda De Cianni, Associate
Melinda will continue to champion design excellence within the interiors team and play a key part in shaping how we approach concept development, storytelling, and the overall design direction of our interior projects.
Her promotion reflects her ongoing dedication to striving for better, as well as the studio’s commitment to nurturing design-led leadership and supporting professional growth from within.
