Working in collaboration with Villawood Properties our studio have developed a diverse and curated selection of residences which respond to context, orientation and homeowner demographic.
Villarange homes are conceived as a family of complementary typologies that elevate what is possible in making good, sustainable design accessible and affordable to a broad spectrum of homeowners.
The designs are the result of meticulous space planning and volumetric studies which maximise natural light, ventilation, privacy and connections to nature.
As a studio our mandate is always to question whether we would live in the designs we create approached with innate understanding that homes should be enablers and not takers.
That is why we continue to push the envelope of what is achievable through an intimate appreciation of how people can live and thrive in the spaces we create.
Villarange are a testament to our ongoing collaboration with Villawood Properties and a shared commitment to setting a new benchmark in making good design more democratic and attainable.
Each typology within the VillaRange reflects this philosophy — designed with intent, tested through rigorous planning, and delivered with an emphasis on liveability, longevity and context. Together, Studio Nine Architects and Villawood are redefining medium-density living through homes that are thoughtful, flexible, and inherently human.
Contour
Contour is a compact yet highly considered home, designed to deliver spatial delight within a modest footprint. Simple yet unexpected, it responds not only at the scale of the individual dwelling but also contributes positively to the streetscape and wider community. A concerted design effort focused on how people inhabit and interact with space, resulting in a home that feels both refined and intuitive. Its clean aesthetic embraces natural light and fluid transitions between indoors and out, with a generous private courtyard and an engaging public frontage that supports solo or shared living.
Array 1
Array 1 is crafted through a lens of simplicity and efficiency, demonstrating how thoughtful planning can deliver a home that feels both generous and refined. A curved entry and mosaic-tiled façade give it a distinctive identity, while high-level windows and clever joinery enhance light, space and functionality. With a master suite, flexible second bedroom and compact circulation, every element is considered, proving that even the smallest details can elevate a home from good to great.

Array 2
The taller sibling in the Array family, Array 2 introduces a stepped roof form and clerestory glazing to flood the interiors with natural light. Internally, the home stitches together living, kitchen, and dining spaces around a central stair and bathroom core. The articulated blade façade adds depth and shadow, delivering a bold and dynamic streetscape presence.
Lumen
Centred around a dramatic two-storey internal courtyard, Lumen is a study in light, openness and spatial layering. Both the ground and upper floors wrap this internal void, unlocking cross ventilation, long sight lines and passive surveillance from the back of the plan to the street. With spaces that balance connection and retreat, Lumen is the most spatially ambitious home in the VillaRange.
