As Southwark Grounds transforms the former West End Brewery site into a connected new neighbourhood, our housing team is shaping one of South Australia's most significant urban renewal precincts
Working in close collaboration with Renewal SA, Blag Homes and Kolabb, our team has designed both Founder's Row and Anderson Lane — two distinct townhouse developments that together deliver 43 homes while contributing to a cohesive vision for the emerging neighbourhood.
While each project
responds to its own site and brief, both are united by a shared commitment to
thoughtful design, housing diversity and creating places that foster a strong
sense of community.
As the inaugural residential release at Southwark Grounds, Founder's Row establishes the architectural language for the precinct. Drawing on Thebarton's brickmaking legacy and Southwark's industrial heritage, the collection of 17 townhouses reinterprets the site's history through a contemporary, place-led response. A carefully curated palette of brick, metal and landscape creates a distinctive identity that sets the benchmark for future development across the precinct.
Building on this foundation, Anderson Lane introduces a further 26 townhouses within the south-western corner of the masterplan. Designed in collaboration with Kolabb, Centina and Renewal SA, the project responds to its context through four distinct dwelling typologies, generous landscaping and a highly walkable public realm. Centred around a shared pocket park and achieving more than 30% tree canopy coverage, the design creates a connected neighbourhood designed to support a diverse range of residents and lifestyles.
Together, the projects demonstrate our integrated approach to multi-residential design. From architectural character and housing diversity to landscape, public realm and interior design, every element has been considered as part of a broader neighbourhood vision.
Behind both projects is our specialist housing team, bringing together expertise in project leadership, architecture and interiors. Led by Project Director Andrew Steele and Project Lead Nigel Howden, the team includes Interiors Lead Melinda De Cianni, Senior Associate Aaron Schintler and Architect Monique Nolan, whose collective expertise has helped shape two distinct residential communities within Southwark Grounds.
With Anderson Lane now on the market and Founder's Row under construction, Southwark Grounds continues to evolve, reflecting our ongoing contribution to one of South Australia's most significant urban renewal projects.
